ALI MICHAEL
ARTISTIC DIRECTOR (PRODUCER)
Alastair is one of two remaining founding members of Ransack Theatre alongside Piers Black. He negotiated having the fancy title of Artistic Director, but in reality he is the Artistic Producer of the company.
Foremost an actor, he has performed in all of Ransack’s productions as well as in a wide variety of small and mid-scale independent theatre productions across the North-West. As an actor, he is currently working more in television than on stage with a regular role in the BBC’s Silent Witness.
As a producer, after training on Liverpool’s Everyman and Playhouse Young Producers programme between 2016 and 2017, Alastair began developing his independent producing practice. In the last 4 years, he has produced ambitious new theatre in tandem with large-scale community engagement such as the touring production of The Political History of Smack & Crack. In 2021, he was grateful to be a recipient of Stage One’s Bursary supporting New Producers.
